Town In Iceland Painted 3D Crosswalk To Slow Down Speeding Cars

In the small fishing village of Ísafjörður, Iceland, an inventive and creative way to slow down cars has popped up. A street painting company Vegmálun GÍH made a pedestrian crosswalk in 3D to create an optical illusion.

Not only does the crosswalk slow down speeding cars, but it can make pedestrians feel like they are walking on air because of the floating ‘zebra stripes’.

Check out this amazing installment taken by Ágúst G. Atlason of Gústi Productions, and tell us if you’d like to see one of these crosswalks in your own city.
